After several weeks I finally had the opportunity to go out with my camera. I brought with me my old Leica M9 with its Summicron 35, the old "eight elements", which I recently purchased. I did a little hard to remove that invisible veil of rust that forms when you do not take pictures for a long time, so all that I could bring home was this photograph of a man intent on reading the newspaper sitting on a bench.
I was struck by his posture, that absurd way to get comfortable, all hunched over the newspaper. I took this photo watching the scene in black and white, exactly as the you are looking at now, with the natural vignetting of my "eight elements" enhanced in post production. This photograph will be part of the series "Readings", a collection of photographs that depict people as they read, a project that I'm carrying on for a few years. This photograph was taken in Milan, at the Public Gardens "Indro Montanelli".
